Police arrests man for trying to blackmail girl in exchange for sexual favors

ILOILO CITYâ€”A man was arrested by authorities on Tuesday, December 29, for allegedly molesting a teenage girl in this city.

Suspect Romeo Bat-og II was arrested in an entrapment operation on Tuesday inside a motel in La Paz district.

Bat-og allegedly tried to blackmail an 18-year-old girl he had been chatting with, and threatened to release a nude video of her if she will not give in to his request for sexual favors.

Bat-og was nabbed by joint personnel of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU) and Women and Children Protection Desk, together with La Paz Police Station, Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 6, and Iloilo City Intelligence Unit.

Bat-og is going to face charges of violating the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, the Anti-Rape Law of 1997, and Grave Coercion under the Revised Penal Code.
